The employers which started working after the time of 31st Dec '97 and before Jan 06 for hiring long-term recipients in family assistance is encouraged by the Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit which is basically a federal income tax credit which was established by the '97 Act Taxpayer Relief,. Employers' federal tax liability can reduce this tax credit to a low amount of $8,500 as per the new hire.

The Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit for the hiring of long-term recipients is as low as $8,500 per hire in which for the first year, qualified wages are 35%, and 50% for second year.

Accidents and health plans are included tax exempts of the qualified wages, along with the educational and assistance programs budgeted at $10,000 a year. For qualifying employers of this tax credit, new employees have to begin working at around 31st Dec 06 and before 1st Sep 11; the work time must be at least 400 hours/180 days.

who is a member of a family and has been received Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), before the date of hire for at least the time period of 18 consecutive months.

whose TANF/AFDC eligibility may have expired after 5th Aug '97 under the Federal or State law, for hired individuals within 2 years of their eligibility expiration.

who received TANF/AFDC for any 18-month time period, and/or who have been hired within a period of 2 years but after the end of early 18-month time.
