, are one of very few companies in the UK licensed to manufacture high-grade Fire Rated Roller Shutters. We have recently had our fire shutters tested and approved at the renowned Exova UK testing centre in Warrington, and have now achieved BS476 Part 22 1987 Method 8. This means that for up to 4 hours protection is given for both single & twin skin insulated fire resistant roller shutters. Westwood offer both single and twin skin insulated fire shutter doors: these are particularly useful where sensitive & expensive goods need protecting from the radiant temperatures in advent of a fire.
The twin skin insulated roller shutter is major development in effective fire safety, and is coming to be considered the minimum standard for the protection of people and properties. The fire shutters are deigned to create zones/areas where if a fire breaks out safe areas can be created allowing safe exit, protection & containment.
Westwood Security Shutters' Twin Skin Insulated Fire Shutters are manufactured from two skins of 100mm high X 0-9mm thickness galvanised steel twin skin interlocking lath, with steel end locks keeping the lath together. The insulation is provided by high quality rock wool inserts that can stand temperatures up to 1200 degrees centigrade.
