Bilingualism also opens up several different avenues and benefits for individuals in their jobs or life. Knowing more than one language fluently has now become an extreme advantage in the industry. It highly increases a person's value in the field enabling them to receive higher salaries or obtain travel opportunities.

In 2001, the US Census discovered that Latinos were the second largest minority in the country. This, as a result, made English and Spanish bilinguals a commodity as many companies look for bilingual individuals who can communicate with the now Hispanic laced community.
