What Are The Uses Of Coal Bunkers?
If you use a real fire, burning real wood, in your home for very long you will see why coal bunkers are such a great thing to have
. These bunkers offer a dry and organized place to store coal or other types of fuel for a real fire. They also offer a safe place to keep the different kinds of fuel away from your home, which can be safer as far as an accidental fire would be concerned. And, they can store a large amount of the fuel as well. For these reasons as well as others it is a great idea to look into purchasing one or more of these coal containers.
When you purchase coal in smaller quantities from a local merchant that sells coal it can be quite expensive. It will typically come in smaller bags that may be around 15 Kg in size. When you have a bunker of this type to store your coal in you can purchase the coal direct in much larger quantities such as maybe even 50 Kg bags or so. And, many merchants will even deliver the coal to your home and put it in your coal bunker for you when you purchase the large quantities such as this. It is much cheaper when you can purchase the coal in these large bulk amounts, and you may even get free delivery when you purchase large amounts.
Purchasing the larger quantities of the coal also allows you to be able to purchase the coal less frequently and not have to worry about it nearly as often. The coal bunkers are a great resource for your long term emergency preparedness plan. If you experience long spans of cold weather the coal suppliers would probably run out of coal and not have it available for sale. When you have your own storage container full of coal you can get by for extended periods of time and still keep you and your family warm. This can be a real asset to your emergency plan as keeping warm would be a necessity in winter months. If there were some sort of a natural or other disaster access to natural gas and electricity could be cut off and you would need a way to keep warm if it happened during the colder times of year.
In times past, the bunkers may have been made of concrete which could be quite inconvenient since it is not easily movable. Another thing the bunkers were made of in metal. The metal coal bunkers can rust and corrode. The newer types are high grade plastic that work very well.
