What Are the Symptoms of Internal Piles and Home Remedies
In medical terminology, piles are known as hemorrhoids. Piles refer to a condition in which the veins around the anus or lower rectum are swollen and inflamed. It is the dilatation (varicosity) of the veins of anus. It appears as bluish colored swellings due to stagnated blood. Piles arise due to the increased pressure of internal or external veins around the anal canal.
Piles can be both internal and external. Internal hemorrhoids, unless they are severe, cannot be seen or felt. There is however, a discharge of dark blood. External hemorrhoids can be seen around the outside of the anus, and there is a lot of pain but not much bleeding. In some cases, the veins burst and this results in what is known as bleeding piles.
Piles internal as well as external types are formed when the renal veins are subjected to severe pressure during hard bowel movement. The fundamental reason for piles is constipation. Bleeding in bright red color is a usual symptom of internal piles whereas external piles bleed when the lumps are irritated or ruptured during bowel movement. The common causes for piles are
Stress on renal veins due to frequent occurrence of constipation
Sitting for long hours continuously
Body overweight
Pregnancy
Aging
Heredity
Frequent occurrence of cough, diarrhea etc.
Liver cirrhosis
Symptoms:
A soft balloon-like swelling of the veins around the anus is the primary symptom of hemorrhoids. When they remain swollen it is called 'developed piles'. When developed piles appear outside the anus they are called 'external', and when they appear inside they are called 'internal'.
If blood starts oozing out of developed piles, they are called 'bleeding piles'. But not all piles bleed. If, instead, they are painful, aching, burning or itching, they are called 'dry piles'.
Other reasons for bleeding piles are extended waiting periods when a bowel movement is due to have. This hardens the fecal matter and makes it a potential threat to internal (and external) piles due to pressuring.
