The prints are always clear and flawless. Depending on the megapixel of the camera used for clicking the photograph, the print may be available in a wide variety of sizes, ranging from as small as 2/3 to as large as 44/120. Each digital photo is made up of numerous colored dots and these are called pixels. The higher the pixel of a camera, the better will be the quality of the picture. The pixel also decides the size of the picture.

With high pixels, a large printout can be taken whereas if the pixel is low, the picture becomes blurred when it is enlarged. Digital prints can be taken either on glossy print papers or on matte ones. The two types of paper render different finishing effect to the photo.

Digital print on a glossy paper will look shinier, vibrant and bright and will reflect more light. A matte finish on the other hand gives a more dull effect and less bright effect. However, when viewed under very bright light, the reflected light from the glossy photos can blind the viewer and make it difficult for him to view the actual picture.

The matte finished photos are free from this problem. Also, unlike the matte finish, the glossy papers catch dust and figure prints faster making it dirty quite easily. The type of paper to be used and the size of the photo depend on the purpose for which it is to be used. Digital photos can serve a wide range starting from conventional photos to magazine photos or even for printing banners and posters.

Nowadays, a number of websites are involved in digital photo printing. This has made digital printing even simpler. For its wide range of advantages and remarkable success and popularity, digital printing has steadily replaced lithography. It has given a new meaning to photography and photo printing and has transformed printing to a quick, easy process that can be utilized by not just professionals but even the common mass!
