It passes over a large screen over the opening where the larger pieces are sifted out and the smaller silt is collected.

This piece of equipment, like a screen, is transportable, but does need to be towed to where it is needed. An excavator or other piece of heavy machinery feeds rocks, earth and other debris into the hopper where it passes through the body of the machine. The larger pieces are sifted away from the smaller ones before being discarded on a conveyor belt.

As mentioned above, there are a number of industries that make use of crushing and screening equipment.
