New pass mark for SkillSelect visa has been lowered for some particular classes not for all of them. According to latest policy pass mark for the new SkillSelect visa subclasses 189, 190 and 489 will be 60 points. Scoring this much will make you eligible but you need to score higher so that you can be among highest ranking migrants over a wide range of professions. The new pass mark will broaden the range of immigration applicants who can be eligible to apply. SkillSelect program acts as a controller to decide who and when somebody can apply.

The minimum cut off for remaining general skilled migration subclasses 175, 176, 475, 487, 885 and 886 will remain same at 65 points. The new pass mark for the SkillSelect visas will motivate a wider range of people with the skills and qualities required in Australia to register their interest in migration.
