What Is The Product In Animation Training?

We all know a product is an entity for sale to the customer

. Most of us are aware about the grade differences in the products be it Automotive, Food, Electrics, Furniture, Textile sectors etc. We determine the product's class based on the raw materials, technology, brand, cost and various other measurements. In most of the sectors the gauging parameters are the same.

But what about in training sector?

How do you know you are getting the best product for your hard earned money in training sector?

We all assume that the most famous brand will offer the best product.

Well... Not always.

So what does one look for in training?

We need to understand what animation is in its essence. It is an artistic form executed with a bunch of software packages.

When you join a training school the product you get is what the trainer knows. It is not the brand, not the infrastructure, not the software packages, not the numerous marketing materials.

If the trainer is good, he can offer you a product worth your money. If he has experience working in international shows, he can teach you to do that. Anyone can teach the tools of the software. But the understanding of art, the specialized knowledge in a form of animation like modeling, texturing, animation, lighting & rendering, VFX. The experience of having worked in international shows, the insight and his ability to impart that to you is what you should look for in the product you are buying from the seller. That is directly proportional to what He / she knows and more importantly He/ She can do and has done.

Here are some questions to ponder about.

What is the skill set of the trainer?

Can he/ she get a job in a reputed X, Y Company? Or has he/she worked in those companies?

Does he have a demo reel? How good is it? (You can cross check this with industry professionals)

Has he specialized? Read the article on Specialization here Is one trainer going to teach you all the departments in animation? OR Does the training school have different specialists to teach?

The product you buy from a training place vastly depends on these parameters and this can determine your success or failure in animation career after all Who you learn from is more important than where you learn from.

The best product in training sector only can determine our success or failure in animation career. So we need to understand the software packages of the product in training as a brand.
