It is software that allows you to automate many of the manual processes found in earlier web blogging software systems. Many of the earlier systems required the site owner or administrator to manually maintain such activities as:

Manually adding, managing and maintaining content such as text and even harder to add video.
Manually adding, managing and maintaining the placement of ads that generate your income.
Manually generating relevant keywords so that you site is properly found by the search engines.
