For any relationship, there is a certain limit beyond which the relationship means nothing more than an obligation of something that you are forcing yourself to keep.

There can be many reasons for this that you don't want to deal with the loneliness or don't want to let go of the person you love no matter how badly your partner treats you.

And in the latter case, unless you happen to be a masochist, you have no reason or obligation to deal with it. Another reason is that you still don't realize that your relationship has gone beyond the level of a healthy relationship.

First off, you need to figure out what exactly is an unhealthy relationship. There can be innumerable parameters for this, but everything comes down to whether you are happy to be with the person you are with and really wish to live the rest of your life with that person. If you are not happy when that person is around or when you are going to spend time with that person, you should know that something in your relationship is not right.

But simply because the spice in your relationship has evaporated into thin air, it doesn't really mean you are in an unhealthy relationship. It also depends on how you are treated by your partner. If your partner happens to be over controlling to the point where you are not allowed to make any decisions regarding not just him but you too, you know you are in an unhealthy relationship. It's also very important that your partner takes you and your decisions seriously and considers them.

Keeping your expectations realistic is also very important in a healthy relationships. If you or your partner expects things beyond something that is impossible practically and also blames you or the other way round if the expectation is not met, it means you are in an unhealthy relationship. Try to consider your partner's situation and see if what you expect from your partner would be possible if you were in their place.

Don't get too carried away by the relationship and spend all the time with your partner leaving no time for friends and family. And don't take away the time spent by your partner with his friends either. If there is any rift or doubts, talk with your partner and fix it as soon as possible.
