To an individual who doesn't suffer from panic attack, symptoms of fear and tightening of the chest may easily be dismissed. To a person who painfully experiences panic attacks this may prove to be a reminder of their previous episode, since tightening of the chest was a symptom prior to an attack.

She starts to panic and her mind realizes danger, her nervous system reacts and in turn it activates the body's fight or flight response.
