You can create a chandelier out of literally anything, including old hardware, kitchen utensils, plastic milk cartons and small pieces of metal artwork. Items that you select can be translucent, shiny, or colorful. Finding the appropriate materials for your project is part of the enjoyment of creating a custom chandelier.

Remember safety at all times, which means being aware of the heat that is given off by the lightbulbs and be sure that the lamp is wired correctly.

A chandelier made up of vintage children's toys is a fun addition to a child's bedroom. You can choose a single type of toy like a jack in the box, or you can simply mix and match the toys for a fun effect. You can start with an existing chandelier as a base and mount your toys on it, or you can build the entire chandelier using toy parts.
