What You Need For A Great Outdoor Camping Experience

Going out in a camp is a wonderful way of having outdoor fun and forgetting all the week's hassles in the work

. Camping is also an amazing get away for your family when you want to have fun away.

One of the things you will require for camping is a tent. There are different kinds of tents that you can buy out there. The two most common ones are; dome tents as well cabin-style tents. It is quite simple to set up any of them; which is a very important factor to consider when buying a camping tent. If you need high heights, cabin tents have all the height you require. Dome tents are relatively simpler to set up and can also withstand windy weather compared to cabin. Cabin style tents are more suitable when you need lots of space. However, if you need less space for packing your stuff, then you can choose dome tents. Always remember to plan for storage of your travel things like mattresses, gears and cots.

While lying on the ground was fine for me when I was camping sometimes back, an air mattress or a cot is more suitable to lie on. Although camping pads are also a good alternative, they are not as comfortable as cots and air mattresses. Don't forget a pump when buying an air mattress. Big displacement air pumps are operated by foot with no need of batteries. If you are buying an electric pump or a pump operated by a battery, I would suggest a pump that puts off a cigarette lighter when used around your vehicle. Most air mattresses will be accompanied with air pumps that have batteries which can be recharged. These are a good alternative too.

Another thing to remember is bags and pillows. There are two things to put in mind when choosing a sleeping bag. Confirm if the range of temperature is indicated. Also, confirm its physical size in terms of width and height. While it's good to have a sleeping bag which is long enough, it is also important to have a wide one.

Another necessity in a camping trip is a source of light. I prefer using a wind up flashlight while within the tent and a lantern while outside. One of the advantages of a wind flashlight is that you don't need to carry the batteries. You can also choose a dual liquid or propane lantern if you need some good lightning around the campsite.

Another item is an ignition to light up the fire. Most often, some firewood are given in most campsites; else you can buy them. I suggest using butane a lighter rather than a match box. You can as well use available newspapers and paper towels to set up the fire. You can also make your own fire starters from home made as a fun activity especially when it is raining.

It is also good to come along with a basic first aid kit that includes an insect repellant.

If you don't need to cook over the wood fire in the campsite, you can use camping gas stove or a propane stove. A well seasoned cast iron pan can also work wonderfully in preparing breakfast or just about anything.

Although there are several other items you may require for a great camping experience, those are the most fundamental ones that can even serve you for future trips. If you are planning to camp this season, have fun and camp safely.
