There are various kinds of school grants. The most common types include those for entry into nursing courses, business schools, law schools, elementary schools, federal schools etc. While a person can do all the research on information in the public domain, getting a grant is not always that easy. The criteria could include a specific educational background or requirement that is not in the candidate's hands. It is therefore always a good idea to apply to as many grants as you can without over stretching yourself. No point spreading yourself too thin as each application will require filling out forms and letters of recommendation not to mention regular follow up and research. If you understand your own goals and work towards them early on, it should not be a problem getting financial support through a grant.
