There are different types of grants and their system is highly developed. Each type of grant has its own aim and requirements for applying. It is not a secret that lots of students apply for this or that grant for educational purposes. But nobody even think that this system is very complicated. All grants can be divided into such groups: 1. Regular grants are offered in different fields of human activity. This type of a grant is distinguished by its constant aim of funding. If this or that grant agency supports students in this particular scientific field it means that the organization will continue its work in this area. 2. Transitional operating support program grants offer support in various sphere. It depends on many circumstances: for example, if one grant agency has been providing funding in educational sphere previous year, this year it may offer its help in a non-educational field. 3. Summer support programs are distinguished for their seasonal work. Such grant programs are activated in summer. For example, students who want to enhance their knowledge in this or that sphere abroad they may apply for one of summer support programs. 4. Nonprofit support programs offer their help to state organizations only. 5. Grants from restricted funds are created on the basis of charities. It means that, for example, a person who decided to make a donation to a school for blind children may become a grant agent him/herself. 6. Application planning grants aims to invest money in those students who may make a contribution for this or that company in future. 7. Evaluation grants are offered only after the moment this or that student has achieved certain results in education. This type of grants is similar to the scientific award and is of no interest for students who need money for education.
