Your first look at the stock market probably elicited from you something like "Oh boy

, what does it all mean?" Once that was said, you dumped the entire enigma in the hands of a broker or anyone else who knew more than you did about the stock market.

Here's the thing. You know enough about poison to know that in most cases, taking arsenic by mouth is going to kill you, right?
