The airline concerned is Virgin America. They have taken to lighting up their bathrooms in order to make the flight more enjoyable for customers. Doing so makes going to the bathroom, especially when it's late at night less of a shock to the iris. It also makes the plane seem more like a fancy restaurant than a simple means of transportation. The lighting will also flatter a person image in the mirror, making them seem less tired and likely more alluring. Other people have explained that the lighting could be set to coincide with the destination's daylight hours, to help prevent such serious jetlag from afflicting passengers.
