How many networkers, do you think, would give themselves the challenge to write a book about their network marketing or MLM experiences? Such personal records will serve as invaluable references to other new entrepreneurs thinking about this industry...what works best and what works poorly. Most importantly, it is a chance to share real stories with real people.I undertook that challenge this winter and here is the preface to introduce my personal journey. This interesting journey was full of twists and turns but the realization hits you about the middle that current standards in network marketing weren't working for the large majority. The terrain got rough when I found myself embedded in so much information that I couldn't possibly expect others to carry the same heavy load. As well, the burgeoning internet and sales programs were netting innocent victims with hype and no hope in realizing results. Along the road, there were victims painfully crying out, "I was sold a big business marketing plan and I have no experience in business marketing plans. I am no longer interested. " The public continued to wave a big red flagand why shouldn't they? It is a common fact that most people fail to make the kind of income they were led to expect and any freedom-factors were soon buried under a debris of overloaded programs and broken promises. The top dogs, however, still exercised the options of joining new programs and taking their loyal followers behind them to help maximize their bonuses. The public definitely needs a reality check about what goes on behind MLM's closed doors. It will hopefully usher in a breakthrough to greatly improve MLM's perception and dialogue about what works, what doesn't and staunch the hype. Until proper education and simple systems can initiate more success, nobody is going to knock on our doors and ask, "Tell us more about how you are doing so well." It will be the other way around and doors will continue to be shut in our faces. The incomparable wisdom of hindsight is shared. The moral is, "With what I know now, I would recommend NOT joining unless certain new factors are in place."Nothing bothers me more as a teacher than to see good people who are expected to act and succeed like master business graduates without adequate skills. Any curriculum set up without a primary foundation will failand overwhelming failure by networkers is exactly what must be prevented going forward.The theme of this story of trials and triumphs is to better understand the true professional networker. It was not about how much you can made but how much you can help others achieve their goals because that is the basis of your monetary and personal reward.Of course, as in all worthwhile journeys, there were interesting characters, junctions and crossroads, drama, conflict, suspense, and new ideaseven a brilliant revelation that streamed across the sky and was gone too soon. What was this terrible conflict? Was it an inner dialogue or an outer denial? There was a definite factor missing when people who were looking to do something better could not see the value of joining an entrepreneur's group in order to learn a system where cost was not a factor...about 30 cents a day.This story will offer a unique perspective of MLM companies, team leaders, prospects, products and challenges. If not amazed, you may be appalled by what average networkers are required to do. Who in their right mind would leave a job with a boss only to be controlled by a time-killing MLM team's program in the hope that two years from now it would be worth the sacrifice? It also covers personal bases on how the internet is impacting network marketing in the last few yearsthe new trend of home business right now.The setting was right that until you have a business asset where you can use information tools to expand your time, it is difficult to break the weekly 40 hour income barrier. The fundamental principles were right...it was methodology that was misaligned.You can jump through all the hoops and funnel all the leads you want, but if certain elements are missing, there will be limited duplication and success. The great news is that these elements are simple to address as highlighted in the solutions. They will counter in self-preservation that you need their master prospecting DVD's and manuals that have created a cash cow for them. This business has never been about brass rooms and officialdom. It is grassroots, free enterprise, and a fair and democratic home business opportunity. Why? Because each of our biographies may be different without democratic conditions but neither do they have to control each of our destinies with a fair and equal opportunity to make money from home.This experience honestly connects the many diverse pieces in one solid presentation with all the factors in one place as an alternative look to redefine and redirect. The climatic observation is the future of MLM prospecting or marketing. What if, three simple steps, are all you really need to know, once the basics are clearly presented? This journey has elevated me to a power of understanding and liberation and these hard earned lessons I wish to share with others. For example, I will never use the dreams of people or their WHY factor to jump start their business WITHOUT a simple plan they can do. There is nothing more demoralizing than hopeful dreams without actions and results. The ultimate solutions here are about simple action plans. The hope is this book will help to fuel your thinking...will plant a seed of self-belief.
