The first energy stealer is being a couch potato. What is a couch potato? This is person who sits or lay on the bed most of the time and not doing any physical activities. Long inactivity can steal your energy. Instead of watching TV or playing video games all the time, hang out with friends by playing sports or have a short walk outside. If you do not want to go outside, then just do some stretching at home. Do not stay in one place for long time. Leave your desk, sofa or bed once in a while and walk around the house or do some worthwhile activities such as completing house chores.

The next energy stealer is the poor posture. When your posture is bad, your spinal cord is not aligned well. Keeping a good posture and balance of the body will help you in saving energy. If you keep having a bad posture, the muscles will have to exert more energy to keep the balance of the body. You always have to sit up or stand up straight. Do not hunch your back. Start activities that can improve your posture such as dancing or playing golf.

Crash diet is also a major energy stealer. It is understandable that people want to lose some weight and have a fit body but a crash diet is never a solution to this. The body still requires a certain amount of calories to function well. They are important for the production of energy and depleting your body of calories means depleting the body of energy. If you want to lose weight, you just have to live healthily and make your meal portions smaller than usual. You should also avoid foods high in sodium and fats. Do it gradually and develop healthy habits.


The fourth energy stealer is the cabin fever. Some people do not feel the urge to go out of the house. All they want to stay at indoors as much as possible. It may be out of habit or because of work. However, sunlight and fresh air are two important things to get the body energized. Therefore, you must go outside from time to time. A 10 to 30-minute walk outside will be helpful in fighting tiredness. Sunlight will keep the brain more alert and less sleepy because it inhibits the production of the sleep hormone melatonin. Fresh air, on the other hand, will help in providing the body more oxygen for healthier cells.

The fifth factor that robs the energy of the body is sugar. Although glucose is important for the body to get more energy, it can also be a reason for fatigue. If you have an empty stomach and you are low in sugar, it is not advisable to eat sweets. If you do so, there will be a sugar rush in the body and you will feel extremely energized for a couple of minutes. However, the body will have to regulate the sugar level by producing and releasing insulin. This will result later on to a sudden decline of sugar level and energy. Instead of eating sweets, eat fruits instead. They are healthy and they will not promote any sugar rush.
