The natural color of brass is anywhere from shiny, reflective like gold to a dark, dull brown. If it is not polished regular, it will oxidize with the air and become darker. There is some confusion in the market between brass and bronze. Consumers should be aware of the one they buy.

The goal is finding a plaque that fits both you and house's architectural style. The selections are practically limitless, from plain brass numbers to the elaborate ceramic plaque.
