There is a tendency for the pain to stay for sometime but working on your situation together you both can move pass the pain and start on building again your relationship. 1)Don't rush. It is understandable that with your urgency to go back to the normal situation you would rush and put all the bad things behind. What you had before were not that really grand. It's just that you don't know them yet. Instead of sugar-coating it, why not handle it a bit longer for you to get to the main cause of the issue and be able to work on some serious relationship repair.
2)Open your feelings to him. There is a tendency for you to believe that hiding the hurt that you must be feeling is the favor you extend to him, the reverse is actually the truth. He has to face the consequences of his actions and he must understand the extent of risk he took by cheating. It is a good aid for him so that he may avoid committing the same mistake in the future and causing you more pain if for no other reason.
