Why Marriage Takes Work

Why should marriage be any different? Years of your life are spent in class making

ready to get the job you would like or the career you need to pursue. If you wished to excel in sports, art or singing, you were prepared to work at it and spend unending hours practicing. Whatever your dream, nothing would prevent you from unceasingly working to attain your goal even if it meant foregoing certain pleasures and taking additional classes.

You studied and read each book you might find to help improve and at last become the person you needed to be. Sadly , the general public who have a go at wedding think it is a learn as you go project.

They "wing it" on a day to day basis and can't see the mistakes made along the path until it ends in separation or divorce.

It's common knowledge that over fifty percent of all marriage's end in divorce and many others are sadly sad. Marriage isn't regarded seriously any more or at least not for long. As shortly as the passion and dedication of the wedding promises fade into the ecstasy of the honeymoon, couples say well if it does not work out it's no enormous deal to go our separate ways.

If youngsters are concerned this is clearly not so, but divorce can also have more far reaching effects on others too. This includes not just your immediate family but chums as well on either side of the marriage. Couples would do well to copy their marriage promises sometimes, particularly the part that announces for good or bad. So frequently when a wedding gets difficult with a loss of job, poor health or sudden costs, the strain starts to build and you look for a way out.

Marriage has become too much about what you can do for me, instead of what we will do for one another. More work should have gone into the engagement period which most times are all too brief. The longer the engagement the more that you can find out about your better half. If there are tiny things ( or huge things ) that provoke you its better to discover them before the vows are claimed.

Going into marriage thinking you can change somebody the majority of the time is a fairy story. Just like you make preparations for a job, you must make preparations for wedding. It not only brings couples closer but assists them to discover what the other individual is looking for or expects in a relationship. In a support situation most feel more at ease sharing their feelings with a pro present. The wedding road is crammed with bumps and potholes but it is a trip worth taking and will be the best journey of your life.
