Why My Network Marketing Company Did Not Let Me Move To Online Network Marketing


In this article I will share with you why my network marketing company did not want me to move to online network marketing. A few years ago I joined a rock solid company. My company has been around for a long time and really markets a non-me too product. I joined this company, like the majority of distributors, because I wanted to become rich. I was really impressed with how helpful the leaders were in this company. I was exposed to personal development during the time I was building this business off-line and especially at the weekly briefings and at the corporate events.

What I will always remember from my experience working with this company were the relationships and the friends I became involved with. The system that my network marketing company taught me to follow was a very simple system. For a year and a half I bought into the company's marketing system.

Their system is all about prospecting and inviting guests out to briefings, corporate events, trainings and private business receptions in order to encourage prospects to join my business. However, what I learned later was that these activities even though they have worked for some were very time intensive activities that made generating the right quality prospects for my business hard. If I invited all my friends and all my relatives to my home and popped in a DVD and let them watch it I was supposed to have my upline available to close or to answer their questions.


It is an invasive way in my opinion to really bring new business partners on board because it makes me feel like I am trying to put pressure on my friends and family to become involved in something that they may not be ready for. So after a lot of rejection and after my friends and family turned me down I eventually went to cold calling business opportunity leads.

That was the most frustrating activity that I ever attempted. I remember sitting in my bathroom because I had no office and making cold call after cold call. I faced massive rejection but I made myself do it anyways. However, it was a great learning experience for me. After a great deal of frustration I decided to move to online network marketing. I found out that my company discouraged their distributors from going online and my reasons for this even though I do not have proof and nobody has specifically told me this just seem to be highly observable.


For starters, my company had a great deal invested in their 'easy-duplicatable-system' and they were afraid of their distributors doing any type of marketing online that could damage their system. Also it made me think that they did not want me to take my business online because they make a lot of money off of their distributors using their system and they do not want anyone challenging the way things have always been done.

For me, taking my business online has always been about generating better prospects faster. Since I began online network marketing I have earned more money and have diversified my income streams. I'm now generating more prospects than I ever could while off-line. My advice for you if you are struggling in your network marketing business is to learn to use technology to generate prospects and then learn how to be a leader by actively pursuing personal development. You will be amazed at how fast your business will grow.
