Why Nurse Training Is Important For A CNA
In this time of recession, one field that has stayed away from the effects of economy collapse is the profession of nursing. Like all the other professions, the nursing profession has also split the duties in different types of nurses and now they get different nurse training for the different nursing types. There are three basic types of nurses which have different responsibilities and after getting to the highest rank, one can specialize and become one of the many other specialized types of nurses. The three basic types of nurses include a certified nursing assistant, a licensed practical nurse and a registered nurse. First one is the certified nursing assistants; these are the lowest ranked nurses and have the most interaction with the patient. It is a duty of a CNA to help the patient with his daily routine tasks and monitor the patient's condition very closely. The second type of nurses is the Licensed practical nurse, these nurses are higher in rank than the CNA and their duty is to check and keep the record of patient's blood pressure, body temperature, blood sugar and other vital signs. It is also their duty to prepare injections and give medicine to the patient. The highest rank of the nurses is a RN (registered nurse), their duty is to supervise the other junior nurses and explains the procedure of treatment to the patient and his family and also provide them moral support.Different types of nurses require different nurse trainings because of their different duties. If you want to become a CNA, you only require a training of three months. CNA training only requires a high school diploma for admission and after completing your training, you will have to appear in an exam. This exam will be based on two sections, theoretical knowledge and practical skills. If you want to become a licensed practical nurse then you are required to have a one year diploma or 2 year associate degree and then you will also have to pass an exam known as NCLEX-PN exam. Becoming a registered nurse demands a bachelor or associated degree, and then you will have to clear an exam called NLE (National Licensing EXAM), however you can also reach this post by getting promoted from certified assisting nurse. There are many other nurse training courses which will make you a specialized nurse. You can become a midwife nurse and take care of pregnant ladies or you can become a school nurse and take care of children. You can also become a travel nurse and work in different medical camps, this allows you to visit different places and get higher payments. Other specialized types of nurses include Public Health Nurse (PHN), Nurse practitioner, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist ( CRNA), Home Health Nurse (HNH) and Occupational Health Nurse (OHN). These specializations allow you to change your working environment and help you increase your demand. These specializations also enable you to get a higher pay than the normal nurses. If you want to become a specialized nurse, first you have to get to the rank of a registered nurse.
