Why Overzealous And Selfcentered Justices Should Be Blamed

, there will still be those more equal than the rest. That very line found in the novel 1984 ostensibly could sum up the estimation of the Supreme Court when it comes to making legal practitioners obey the rulings that are supposed to cover us all. It can be remembered how last year many of the best judges of the state eliminated the lobbyist disclosure law due to the fact that lawyers are the ones who want to have authority over laws and regulations. According to the high court, lawyers who lobby don't have to reveal who they're working for or the amounts they receive. It was a point against good government, lately, when 4 against 3 it was ruled by the Supreme Court that lawyers are not subject to the revolving door law of the state which prohibits lawyers who had worked for a specific firm for at least one year to be working on behalf of private sector interests before the agency. The idea is to limit insider information and undue influence.

Most senators and representatives, while not relishing this hard fight need to help eliminating this situation in which lawyers are more equal than the rest as they are above laws which should be for all. With the effort of senate staff last year, a survey established that among the States, Pennsylvania alone had its high court exempt lawyers from abiding by laws that should apply to all.

And we should not be fooled into thinking the matter is not serious by having the Supreme Court institute lobbying or revolving door rules for lawyers. We are a nation supposedly of equals. Hence we cannot have separate laws when it comes to attorneys. It is expected that the court shall declare new laws on attorney lobbyists soon, states the chief justice who was a guest at a local press meet. However, this is not the proper cure for these rules will only affect lawyers in a land where the foundation is that under the law, everyone is supposed to be treated equally.

Once the court is stripped of its exclusive power, many people fear the rise of a crisis in the constitution. There is no stopping this crises as n people who decided that common sense rules covering everyone in given circumstances could not be compulsory on lawyers in instances not directly related to the courts, specifically the very egotistical and selfserving justices have ignited it. If the Supreme Court shall continue abusing its power over us, then we must all do our part in upholding our sacred rights to equality as stated by our laws, and do our best to limit its jurisdiction over our society.
