Even though you might have an office somewhere, you can take a break and do your work without being entrapped in a cabin for a stipulated time. No one likes to have a boss, and starting a business entails you to be on your own and decide how you would like to work. The fear of being answerable is no longer there; the trepidation of being sacked ceases to worry you, and you can probably bring in more productivity to your business as well. The other advantage of having a business of your own is that you can call the shots regarding your working hours. You can choose to be more flexible in your work, and take a break when you need to unwind, which can actually help in enhancing your productivity.

The recession has made the economy spiral downwards, but on the other side, it has also amplified prospects elsewhere in other non-related industries. So the likelihood of doing well after starting a business is quite realistic. In addition, because of the competition being comparatively less during a downturn, it is easier to stand out in the crowd when you do start a business.
