Why You Should Keep Your Ipad 2 When The New Ipad Is Already Out On The Market

Every time after a new product of Apple comes out

, the owners of the predecessors begin to sell their old product for the new one. However, this time they can hold it and keep the ipad 2, because ipad 2 would not be so obsolete this time. The new ipad does not change so much that make ipad 2 look bad. Actually the new ipad should be called ipad 2s. Maybe thats why it is not called ipad 3.

According to Phil Schiller, Apples senior vice president for marketing, the new ipad is not named ipad 3 because That would have been too predictable. Then why the new ipad? It looks just like the ipad 2 and it just have been enhanced in some aspects. So it should be called ipad 2S maybe, just like the iphone 4s.

The biggest update on the the new ipad is a far crisper Retina display with 2048*1536. The display is said to be the sharpest ever on the mobile device, four times sharp as ipad 2. This screen has 3.1 million pixels, which is 1 million pixels more than on a high-definition TV set. Look at the bright side, the pictures, video, maps and text on the new ipad would look incredibly sharp and clear. It would be a visual feast for users.

However, lets look at the dark side then. The current apps should be rewritten for the new screen like Apples own apps like Photos, Maps and iBooks. However, therere a lot of apps havent been rewritten yet, which means not all of them are sharpened. and it would be weird to see texts with different clarity on the same screen. Besides, the graphics in Retina-ready apps consume two to three times as much of the iPads nonexpandable storage than pre-Retina apps. With the same storage, your new ipad would store less apps than ipad 2. And you know whats worse for the ipad 2 owners? Since Apples apps are written in one universal version to be suitable for both ipads and iphones, they would eat up the same space on different devices. Therefore, if the apps are rewritten for the new ipad, then it would also eat much space on your ipad 2 if you use it.

Similarly, high-definition videos look dazzling. This is the worlds first tablet that can actually show you hi-def movies in full 1080p high definition. But Netflixs streaming movies dont come to the iPad in high definition (yet, says Netflix), so they dont look any better.

Another inspiring update of the the ipad is a battery with larger capacity. If you think this means longer battery life, then well, you are not all wrong. The better battery makes the new ipad one millimeter thicker, and 1.8 ounces heavier, than the iPad 2. (I wonder if the new ipad 3 case would have any difference.) And the battery life may be not longer than ipad 2, because the new ipad adopts 4G LTE. 4G network doesnt cover the whole America. But if it does, your battery would drain really soon in 4G mode.

Therefore, you could keep your ipad 2 and be cool. It would work just fine. Why not wait for the real ipad 3?
