With almost the same number of under graduate and graduate enrollments (considering both part time and full time courses), Wilkes University is a small 4 year primary residential school. As a package, Wilkes University provides bachelors and masters degrees apart from first professional degrees.Often abbreviated as WU, Wilkes University is a private university situated in Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania.

The university is divided into 4 colleges:

Sidhu School of Business and LeadershipNesbitt College of Pharmacy and NursingWilkes University offers majors in a variety of streams like science, engineering, business, liberal arts and education for undergraduate and graduate students. The stream teacher education & professional development' apart from other education based studies leads the race in terms of enrollments. Business administration and management comes a distant second.


Admission and Student Services

For admissions, cumulative scores (25/75 %ile) for SAT stand at around 930 out of a possible 1160. Though it lacks an on campus day care' center, it scores on other students' facilities and services. Making career choices during your stay at the WU campus isn't tough as the academic career counseling & placement center at the campus are well equipped in terms of facilities as well as administration.

Remedial services are also available at the institution. Every student gets a free membership towards the Wilkes-Barre YMCA, which provides swimming and other athletics based facilities.

Athletics

In terms of athletics, students from WU (Wilkes University) compete in 14 sports disciplines via NCAA Division III. The sports teams here are known by the nickname the colonels. Popular sports in terms of following and representation include baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, golf, lacrosse, softball, tennis etc.
