One temporary solution is the fact that solid materials can absorb and store the gas in a safer way, but these materials are typically quite heavy.This is why researchers still trying to figure out what hydrogen storage materials would be more effective. It is believed that a combination of magnesium, nickel, and titanium could be used for storage as it is a relatively light metal alloy. The researchers are trying out thousands of various metal alloys to see which ones are ideal at soaking up hydrogen. If any of the tests prove to be successful, it could result in hydrogen becoming the clean fuel of the future and in theory; people will be able to turn water into gas.
