Will.i.am Launches His Own Mortgage Relief Program

, Will.i.am, has formally launched his own mortgage relief program. The assistance effort is aimed at helping numerous troubled homeowners across the US to face the current foreclosure crisis amid a distressed US economy. The program is called i.am home.

In a media interview, the rapper/producer said i.am home aims to offer and provide necessary assistance to homeowners who are having defaults on mortgage payments due to job loss or other forms of income depletion or loss. Will.i.am, or William James Adams Jr. in real life, said the mortgage relief program intends be on call for needy families who need to pay mortgage commitments despite the financial difficulties.

I.am home opens lines of communications for troubled homeowners to contact. The program employs staffs who receive and entertain calls, assess financial situations, coordinate with lenders and other agencies, and provide assistance that is most appropriate for the situation. Aside from providing money to temporarily pay mortgages, the relief program also intends to help homeowners find and get jobs for income generation.

The 35-year-old recording artist said his intention is to help rescue families who are burdened by continuous mortgage payments despite job losses. He assures that all recipients of the mortgage relief effort need not pay him or the organization back. Those people would be considered debt free, so they could go on with their lives.

Asked why he has decided to pursue such a humanitarian initiative, Will.i.am said he draws inspiration from his mother. He recalled how his mother used to tell him that despite how people get successful in their careers, they still struggle in some ways. His family backs him in his efforts to help others. Will.i.am is known for being a family man. In 2009, entertainment columns and television shows revealed his purchase of a brand new home for his beloved grandmother.

I.am home reminds recipients of its assistance that there is a need for them to help their selves as well. Will.i.am recalled that one woman his organization rescued was given an employment opportunity at a hospital. The woman, after receiving the financial assistance to pay her mortgage obligations, did not show up on her very first day at work. She was logically fired.
