Being able to answer and speak the language is therefore essential.

Housekeeping assistants works in teams, there are various shift patterns available. The housekeeping assistants would be given specific orders from the head housekeeper on where each team or person would need to maintain and tidy. It is the duty of the housekeeper to ensure that every cleaning area is at least within a satisfactory standard.

Keeping the hotel within a satisfactory standard would enable the facilities within the hotels to last longer. Visitors staying in the hotels can be rest assured the cleanliness and hygiene of the area, therefore would think of going there again during their next visit.

All areas within the hotel building would need to be kept clean and tidy, this includes the cleaning of skirting boards, floors, carpets, lamps, polishing of any wood tables and door handles, toilets and bathrooms. All beds would need to be made and ensure that there are clean sheets, towels and mattresses in good order before allowing the next visitors to stay. Any fridges or mini bars within the rooms would have to be re-stocked if used, as well as any toiletries re-filled or re-stocked.

With the increase in the number of hotels opening up throughout the UK, the needs for housekeeping assistants have also increased. Hotel housekeeping assistant roles can be applied for online as well as directly with the hotels themselves. It is not necessary for the person to have any forms of qualifications or experience, however the person must be willing to work the shifts and not be afraid of mess.
