We're not sure how the Eva Longoria divorce rumors got started, but a rep for Eva Longria has squashed them, noting that the Tony Parker and Eva Longoria divorce stories are all false. According to a representative for Longoria, Tony did not file for divorce and does not have a lawyer.

The Eva Longoria divorce rumor appears to be traceable to TMZ, who reportedly earlier today that Tony Parker filed documents in Texas. Oops. I guess that's what happens when you don't check your sources. In any case, we're happy to report that the Eva Longoria divorce rumor is false, and we wish the couple the best.

The "Desperate Housewives" star whose divorce-in-progress from Tony Parker has been making headlines, is temporarily parting ways with the Alma Awards, reports Latina. Not to worry though, it's only for a year and it's amicable on both sides.

The Almas -- the annual awards from the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) that honor Latinos in entertainment -- usually get broadcast in the fall, but will be skipping the 2010 season. Longoria is usually very prominently associated with the Almas, and even though this year is a bust, future collaborations appear likely.

"Eva's been part of our core team on the production for the Almas, so she will be a part of the awards as she has been for the past four years," says the NCLR's VP Delia de la Vara.

So why was the ball dropped this year?

Apparently, the NCLR had been shopping the Almas around, and in order to take advantage of the increased interest, they decided to forgo 2010 in order to bring the awards back in grand style.

"We're working toward a 2011 fall broadcast of the show during Hispanic Heritage Month," says de la Vara. "That's the right time to showcase the stories about the contributions that Latinos are making in television, film, music and sports."

So there you have it. The Almas are "taking a break" and are "working on themselves" in order to be a better partner (to a network) in the future. Parker should take note.
