Hardin Construction Company has begun a $19.9 million project to build new student housing and renovate two historical buildings on the campus of Savannah State University.The student-housing component includes demolition of an existing structure to make way for three new buildings totaling 607 beds and 170,000 square feet that will feature suite and semi-suite style housing for freshmen women and men. Additionally, renovation of historic Adams and Morgan halls, which date to the early 1920s and 1930s, will provide spaces for academic, conference and social areas in support of the new residence hall.
