The Nokia N96 is a slide unlocked cell phone announced in February,2008.It featuresBroadcast Television (DVB-H) capable (DVB-H based mobile TV with internal antenna,DVB-H Class C, 470-750 MHz ).The phone also supports Built-in GPS receiver,Nokia Maps application,Up to 5 megapixel (2592 x 1944 pixels) Camera,16GB internal flash memory,WLAN - IEEE802.11 g/b and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo
I used the phone and find the phone sometimes turned off automatically when I put in the pocket and of course, I didn't touch it at all. It happens serveral times before I realise this problem. I hoped to find some useful information on the internet and found this problem is widely mentioned.
Fortunatly, my problem was resolved by doing a hardreset. Following are the steps to do it:
First, backup all the information you stored in the cell phone, as all your personal information will be deleted after doing the hardreset.
Then press the keys "*#7780#" to do a hard reset. After pressing these keys, the process takes almost 1 minutes. The phone will restart again and sometimes the lock code is required. And the lock code for the phone Nokia N96 is 12345.
Normally the situation of is caused by the inflict of softwars you installed, However, if it doesn't works, you might have to worry about the defect of the hardware.
Of course, if you firmware version is not the newest, before doing the hard reset, you can update to see if it is resolved.
All in all, if it is the software problem,it can be resolved in many ways.
