2.45GHz Active RFID Reader Uses CMOS IC Technology

Toronto, Canada - GAO RFID Inc.(www.GAORFID.com) is offering an active USB RFID reader operating in the unlicensed 2.45GHz frequency that enables the reader to be used globally. It employs advanced 0.18 micro meter CMOS IC technology allowing for ultra-low power consumption. This optimized RFID reader is ideally suited for use in personnel locating, logistics, warehouse management, closed loop asset tracking and high value asset tracking.

The 2.45GHz active RFID USB reader, model217003, uses a USB 2.0 interface for data exchange and provides two selectable modes: direct and buffering. The direct mode is designed for readers to upload messages to the host system on a real time basis. In buffering mode, readers can receive and save tag information which are uploaded only when requested by the host system. Its built-in omni-directional antenna enables it to identify tagged items from 15 to 20 meters in all directions. What's more, the reader has a highly reliable read speed of 100tags/s.
