3 Easy Steps To Find The Idea For Your Next Article
This may come as a surprise, but finding ideas and information for your next article doesn't have to be frustrating and complicated.
If you can write a note to your spouse or your child, you have all the skills needed to write an article. But what trips up most people is figuring out exactly what to write about. This article details 3 ways in which you can easily find information for your next article.
1. Listen to what other people are saying.
There are many places online where people are talking about whatever niche you're targeting. Blogs and forums are the main spots to hit. Keep an eye out for questions that are repeated -- regular users of a forum roll their eyes when the same questions are asked over and over...
...but that means there's a need for that information. Make notes of those questions as they're perfect fodder for an article.
2. What's on the bestseller list?
Take a look at the Ney York Times bestseller list, or Amazon's top 100 list, and see what books people are buying. That's a great indicator of topics that are of interest and in many cases it gives you ideas on the kinds of questions people have. If millions of people are buying a book on XYZ, you know that articles about XYZ will also be well received.
3. Ask people what they want.
As research goes, this is probably the best way to find out what information people need -- ask them! Find your target market and ask them what their most important question is about XYZ.
You can do that with a simple email, a web-based survey, or even do it in the real world by asking the people you meet. If you're involved in XYZ, ask the other people who are also involved what they wish they knew more about.
Once you know what information people want, it's dead easy to research that topic and write a simple little article answering their questions. By using these techniques on a daily basis you'll have a never-ending supply of article ideas waiting for you to sit down and write.
Choose one of these today, get started filling your "idea bank," and you'll find writing articles is no longer the frustrating chore it has been in the past!
