3 Tips For A Beginner Writer Who Wants To Make More Money

Beginning a freelance writing career takes patience and hard work

. Many people also wrongly believe that beginner freelancers have to embrace the "penniless writer mentality" while they get their foot in the door, so to speak. If you dream of financial success with your freelance writing, here are three important tips for beginner writers that will really help you out.

First, focus on HIGH QUALITY writing. Perhaps that is self-explanatory, but many wanna-be writers NEED to hear this. Do NOT forget about grammar rules, and be sure to do your editing. Rough writing grates on an educated reader like finger-nails on a chalkboard.. If you don't know the difference between "theirs" and "there's", or how to use a semi-colon, then you will need to learn how to do so.Second, consider that good writing has a specific structure. You should be able to find a beginning, a middle, and an end. Your job as a writer is to guide your readers through your content smoothly and effortlessly. Capture your readers with a gripping intro, pass along what they need to know about your topic, and then summarize and conclude with style. Don't leave your readers hanging, but at the same time make them curious about what else you have written on the topic.Third, shoot for the moon! You are going to find a LOT of ads that do not offer much money for your writing. Perhaps you think that writing for very little pay is the way all freelance writers start off, or a way to practice your writing skills. There is nothing seriously wrong with that, but way too often writers get stuck in a low paying rut. They find that they need to write more and more in order to "make enough money". The only problem is, they don't understand that they could be earning WAY more during the time they spend writing.

If you fail to follow this advice for beginner writers, you will find yourself very quickly disillusioned with your writing career. Your readership will not grow, you will receive more rejections than you would like to have from editors and publishers, and you won't be earning the amount of money you would wish for. But if you DO follow them, beginning your freelance writing writing career will be both lucrative and exciting!
