1.) Safe Sense Technology. Safety is something that everyone who is shopping for a shredder should take a very close look at. To their credit, the vast majority of shredder manufacturers have taken it upon themselves to add increasingly innovative and significant safety features to their machines. Fellowes, however, seems to have jumped ahead of the pack, having designed and patented one of the most innovative and remarkable safety features that we have ever seen. Known as SafeSense, this system features a set of electronic sensors located near the feed opening of the machine that are able to detect body heat, and stop the shredder's motor immediately if hands or fingers get too close. This is not only a great safety feature for the average busy office, but also if your shredder is going to be placed in a location where there are ever children or pets nearby. As we said, this technology has been patented by Fellowes, so you won't be finding it on any other shredders.

2.) 100% Jam-Proof System. When you are just trying to get your shredding done, there is nothing more annoying and messy, than a paper jam. Fellowes has come up with a remarkable new system to combat this hassle, and to help ensure you will never have to deal with it again. Known as their "Jam-Proof System," it happens in three parts: first, as the user put paper into the feed, sensors electronically measure the thickness of the load. As the job continues, the user watches the light bar that is on the side of the feed opening. If the light is green, you can add more paper if you want or need to. When the light is yellow, you are feeding the shredder comfortably within the recommended range. If you see a red light, this means that the shredder is being overfed, and it will stop automatically, before a paper jam has a chance to occur. All you have to do then is to remove some of the paper and resume the shredding job. Also if you should ever accidentally misfeed the shredder (such as putting the paper in at an off-angle), the jam proof system will power right through it.

3.) SilentShred Performance. In a shared office space, it is often the case that one person's trip to the shredder is another person's noisy annoyance. Fellowes has virtually alleviated this problem with its SilentShred technology which ensures quiet operation of the shredder to keep distractions to a minimum. SilentShred is featured on all of Fellowes new shredders.

4.) Auto Oil System. Oiling your shredder can be a bit of a mystery, not to mention a hassle. Nothing is more helpful in keeping you shredder in peak working condition, though, so Fellowes has included a patent-pending automatic oiling system that lubricates the shredder's cutting heads after every 20 shred jobs. The system is bot efficient and clean, and all the user ever needs to do is to change the oil can when necessary.
