In her couples therapy, Lacey might help each partner look at how their negative thinking gets in the way of effective communication and letting the other know how much they mean to them. Couples counseling and family counseling involves bringing the system together, to examine what is going well, as well as what parts of the relationship need some attention. Whether in the couples counseling / marriage counseling or within the family therapy, Lacey spends time with members, offering them the tools to best express themselves so others can hear them without reacting. With children, issues of depression may come out in other ways, such as in acting out in anger or with anxious thoughts and worries.
