You will only do this by increasing the patrons that come through your doors. If you aren't constantly driving customers to your store or restaurant then you'll eventually starve. You've got to outsmart your competition and come up with systems that will produce the desired business results you crave. Here are five ways that you can not only increase but boost your sales and recruitment.

Advertising

If you don't advertise how will anyone know that you exist? You can have word of mouth advertising or even referrals, but your initial customers have to originate from somewhere. You can place online ads, newspaper ads, or even local commercials. Various promotions can be created throughout the year based upon specific holidays or social events. You might even include your company in a volunteer or community event to get your name out there. What you want is name recognition. Advertising is the way to do it.

Customer service


How long do your patrons wait before being seated? How long does it take to get a meal? Are your workers happy and convey that to the customers? If not then you will never get customer loyalty and won't retain customers. They will eventually spread bad reviews about your company and eventually it will be dead. If your workers aren't doing their jobs make sure they get the proper training and supervision. If that still doesn't work keep hiring until you get one that fits your needs.

Hours of operation

If you are only open for dinner, including a lunch time menu will increase your sales. You can also extend your hours to gain more revenue. Just make sure that if you decide to do this that your patrons know the new hours so that you won't pay extra overhead for only a few extra clientele.

Expansion

Your business can receive a boost in business with more room by expansion. If you have standing room only you might consider getting a bigger location or even a second location to accommodate patrons from various areas. You will need to make sure that you have adequate staff to be able to handle both locations should you decide to do this as you cannot be in both places at the same time. You are bound to have more stress at the beginning while you are getting everything operational but eventually if you planned everything correctly will turn out fine.


Review

Your goal should be to get an excellent review written up about your establishment and included in a local media outlet. As people read it from an unbiased source you will begin to get people just from this source alone. You can then use this as a press release to further market your business.

The hospitality industry is not an easy one. Anytime you have to deal with the public you need to make sure that you do everything to keep them happy. Once you've done this you always stay in business as they will be loyal and keep coming back.
