Never leave home without your cards. Always take them with you. I suggest putting some to your wallet, card holder, car, and briefcase and leaving some at home. This advice gives you opportunity to introduce yourself at any time. Sometimes we meet potential clients in places where we even don't expect. So I advice be always prepared.
--Don't waste them
I have read few articles where people recommend wasting your card everywhere. I strongly disagree with this statement. I think it looks very unprofessional also you waste your money because good card cost some money. You have to analyze which places best suits for you services. If you own car parts shop then analyze where car owners go. In common cases your biggest part of clients will be man. So think like man and put in that places where man goes. But don't begrudge if someone ask one or two.
--Make them special
Many people usually throw away cards. I suggest making it more special for that person. Write something on back of card. It can be your number, email or other useful information. This will increase your card chance to be saved. Also if you do that then don't forget to give few clean cards.
--Avoid wrong information
If you change your office address, phone number or other information always update your card. People hate cards with wrong information. Also you can change your card design in the same time. Sometimes occurs situation when you met people but haven't received changed cards yet. Then you can write new address or phone number on back side but try to avoid this.
