6 Steps To Create A New Background On Your Desktop
If you get tired of looking at the same background on your computer then you can change it
. To change the desktop background follows these steps:
Step 1
Use your mouse to right click on the desktop icon. A drop down menu will appear. From the drop down menu choose Personalisation.
Step 2
From the Personalisation window you will see a link to the Desktop Background. Click on this link with your mouse and this will lead to the Desk Top Background window.
Step 3
You will find a range of different desktop backgrounds to choose from. The range will include the following categories:
Windows Wallpapers: Microsoft has included a number of basic graphics and photos that you can use as your background.
Pictures: This option enables you to use your own personal photos that you have stored on your computer. Clicking on this option will open up your pictures folder.
Sample Pictures: This is a similar option to the above in which you can access samples of photos that are stored in the Sample Pictures folder. This folder can be accessed via the Pictures folder.
Public Pictures: This option enables you to locate pictures and other images in your public folder.
Solid Colours: Provides a palette of chosen colours that you can select from.
Step 4
When you have looked at the above option choose the photo you want. When you choose you will be able to see a preview of it.
Step 5
You can select to use one large image or a combination of smaller images. You can also position the images. There are 3 options that you can use to position the image on your desktop. The first one is fit to screen which basically allows your selected image to cover the whole screen.
The second option is tile. This basically repeats your chosen image into little square tiles similar to a mosaic style.
The third option is Center: This basically means that you can place your photo or image in the center of the screen. The image does not fill the whole screen. The image will be surrounded by a block of colour. This looks a little like a picture frame. This is a popular choice as you can insert icons of your frequently used programs or software on to the border. This leaves your image free of any icons blocking it.
Step 6
When you have chosen your image and settings then apply them by clicking the OK button. Close the dialog and you are done.
