I have been thinking about writing my story down for a while now

, and after recently deciding to tell the whole story of the company and training and support system that have made a difference in my families future I made a decision that now was the time to do it.

If you're here it's probably because you heard of Leadership Team Development after you went to one of our information sessions or from somebody, maybe a friend or relative who approached you to take a look at the business as an option for you and you determined to do some research for what you might learn concerning the corporation.

This article is to enlighten you on the actual Leadership Team Development (LTD) story, and the positive experiences myself and so many others have had. I was with the Amway business before Leadership Team Development (LTD) came together and I can tell you that the opportunity now is better than ever.

How I got involved in Leadership Team Development (LTD)

After I finished up college and took my first corporate job I was contacted by one of my work associates who I found out later was in Amway on the Leadership Team Development (LTD) team. He asked, "Do you keep your eyes open to extra ways to make income"? I said, "Yes, doing what"? He said, "Well, I can't talk about it here at the office, but get me your number and I'll ask one of my partners to call you and tell you what we're doing".

Before I got out of college I managed to run up $10,000 in credit card debt, financed my first new car, borrowed the money to put down on a condo, put my television, my home theatre system and my microwave on credit. I was drowning in debt and I was going down quickly. There was more month than money each and every month and it was very stressful.

The night I headed to an information class, I called my mother to give her a heads up that I was heading to a information session and she said, "Oh, I bet it's an Amway meeting, you better not get your hopes up". My mother had been in Amway years earlier and had a unpleasant experience with a sponsor that had no care for people. I said, "Mom, if I don't get excited now what would I possibly have to get my hopes up for later"?

I went to my first informational session and listened to the speaker talk about the opportunity. It was there that I first learned about Amway, a multi level marketing company that sold billions each year, and sold many companies products and services to be sold by their worldwide distribution network. That night I also was told about a training and personal leadership development system created by twelve multi-millionaires called Leadership Team Development (LTD). I was later trained by one of those 12 millionaires and it turned outto impact my life for the better in so many ways. I went home that evening with concerns but somewhere in my mind I knew there was something about the people in the room. I later learned that all the people in the room were members of Leadership Team Development (LTD) and with their help I knew I could do this.

After 18-24 months of effort working 10-15 hours / week my wife and I had put together an organization doing more than $500k in sales while we both continued to pursue our corporate jobs and I ended up completely out of debt.

I've grow to be a successful business owner, a better partner to my wife and dad being associated with the leaders in Leadership Team Development (LTD).

Why does Leadership Team Development (LTD) draw haters?

There will always be people that come up with their opinions. As a rule the people that take the most time to criticize a thing are individuals that have nothing better to spend their time doing than to take a crack at to take others down with them. Surely you've heard the story of the crabs in the bucket. About the time one crab starts climbing out two of it's nearby friends reach up and pull him back down into the bucket.

In all reality people criticize what they don't identify with. Most people that grew up in the long-established public education systems have not been taught the philosophy of achievement, nor what it takes to succeed in a business of their own. School teaches go to school, get excellent grades, go to work and promises the thought of making it. What does making it really mean?

Subsequently when some individuals get around leaders that have learned how to be successful, on occasion those people never give themselves a chance to understand and they stop associating simply because they are not ready to change how they think and become successful.

Unfortunately on occasion those well meaning people will hear of someone else attempting to make a move to enhance their situation and similar to those crabs endeavor to pull them down. Have you ever thought about the fact that no one ever sculpted a statue to celebrate the accomplishments of someone who wasted their day criticizing things they knew nothing about?

Do I have to buy books, CDs and attend functions that Leadership Team Development (LTD) offers?

Ever met somebody who overcame great odds to succeed and then come across someone else that failed to accomplish that same goal? What do you think are the differences between those two people? For just a moment let's assume they have the same physical and mental capabilities. Now I am not going to tell you the Roger Bannister story here. You must have heard that one several times before. When it comes right down to it the difference is mindset. The fact is when two people try to solve a problem one with a definite mindset to succeed and the other unsure of their success one of them is certain to fail. The challenge is developing a success mindset is not a trivial thing.

There are hundreds of books, audios and events produced each year to address success. If you want to develop a success mindset there are thousands of resources available to choose from. If you already have a success mindset unlike 99.9% of people on this planet, you can probably get by without them. If you're like the rest of us that have a lot of room to improve they would be worth the investment in yourself.

Some of my friends in this industry make six and seven figure incomes and they spend thousands of dollars every month on self development. When they got their start they started small but even then they invested hundreds if not thousands per year in self development. They tell me that without the personal development they would have never gotten to the levels they have achieved today. A lot of success has not so much to do with what you do, it's more how you think about what you do.

I have purchased almost every resource that Leadership Team Development (LTD) has produced and all of the successes I've achieved have been a direct result of the mindset I came to have from studying those materials and events.
