A Look At Solar Pool Blankets

You have your swimming pool filter, heater, and even some pool toys for the kids

. But don't forget a solar swimming pool blanket, which can make your pool time more enjoyable by warming up the water. Pool blankets are perfect for families who like using the pool regularly, as they enable you to keep your pool open for a longer period of time through the season.

A pool blanket rests over the swimming pool and traps heat from the sun, and that means you can raise the temperature of the water without a pool heater. It's even possible to go swimming throughout the autumn as the sun's rays will keep the water at a pleasant temperature. Another advantage of these products is that they are likely to be much more affordable than an electric pool heater.

There are several different kinds of blankets available for swimming pools, but the highest quality products are produced from resin, which is water resistant. The blanket will have tiny pockets that are intended to trap debris and pollutants that might otherwise wind up in your swimming pool.

It's also possible to purchase solar blankets that have aluminum added to them. The aluminum acts as a conductor of heat, and consequently the water gets warmer faster, and is kept warmer for an extended time period. This is especially useful if you have a smaller swimming pool and would like to use it as a spa every once in a while.

While most solar blankets are light to medium blue in color (to complement the color of the water), clear diamond covers are a fairly new trend which could be more suitable for a larger pool. The air pouches found in this type of blanket are diamond-shaped rather than the round ones found in the majority of the others. This means the heat retention process is faster and more efficient.

If you have a more modest pool, you might want to consider getting solar sun rings. They are not as big as solar pool blankets, and you might want to get several for best results. They're a great addition to your pool's installed heating system.
