Aerobic activity- any physical activity that elevates your heart rate for a certain amount of time- will help you to burn off excess calories and stored fat. In addition to improving your strength and endurance and strengthening your heart muscle, aerobic activity is key to providing you with a longer life. Aerobic activity is the greatest pathway to burning off the stored fat that covers your muscles and to looking the way you want to look. Not only will the correct aerobic strategy improve your aesthetic appearance, it is directly linked to how good you feel, both physically and mentally. By implementing a winning nutritional and aerobic strategy, you will eliminate a great deal of the body fat you are carrying.
Any added physical activity you perform will require your body to burn extra calories, and those calories should come from stored fat. So just get yourself moving-even if it is for a short, brisk walk. Take the dog for a long walk. Trust me, the dog won't complain. Schedule a lunch meeting six blocks away and walk to it. Hike on a nearby trail. Hop on that bicycle that's been sitting in your garage and ride around the neighborhood. Better yet, schedule a family bike ride. When was the last time you went bike-riding with your child or a friend? What about making your next vacation an active one that includes swimming, snorkeling, hiking, water sports, or a spa that has daily exercise classes? It's the little changes you make in your day-to-day life that will add up to huge benefits in the end. You will soon discover that when you make it a priority to be more active every day, it soon becomes a habit. Eventually, it becomes a lifestyle. You will begin making the time for new activities, and you will become attached to the way your more active lifestyle makes you feel.
