Airspeed Telecom Awarded 10.5ghz Radio Spectrum Licenses By Comreg

500,000 investment by AirSpeed Telecom will enable high speed telecommunications services up to 10Mbps for businesses in each area

AirSpeed Telecom, the telecommunications company, which operates a nationwide licensed wireless radio transmission network, has been awarded significant 10.5GHz radio spectrum licenses by ComReg for Dundalk, Portlaoise, Wexford and Waterford.

An additional investment of 500,000 will be made by AirSpeed Telecom to their existing network to activate these licenses and provide high-speed telecommunications services of up to 10Mbps for businesses in the regions.

The new service will allow business users to access significant bandwidth services and faster and uncontended Internet, data, voice and video applications and, therefore, offer customers the ability to quickly align communications needs with business opportunities.

AirSpeed Telecom was also recently awarded multiple lots of 26GHz spectrum licenses from ComReg which will significantly increase capacity in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway for uncontended high bandwidth services. AirSpeed Telecom has signed a number of high profile contracts this year with companies such as dars na Gaeltachta, Vhi Healthcare and Vista Primary Care.

AirSpeed Telecom has invested 2.3 million in their network as part of a multi-million euro long term investment plan, demonstrating the companys commitment to remain at the leading edge of radio transmission service provision in Ireland. This investment involved the addition of 23 high site locations to the network, providing a platform for greater national reach.

AirSpeed Telecom employs 35 at offices in Dublin (Citywest) and Cork (CIT Campus). Clients include RTE, dars na Gaeltachta, Vhi Healthcare, TG4, Telegael, HEANet, Dairygold, NCSS (BreastCheck), Vista Primary Care and Windmill Lane.
