Align Reward With Company Brand Strategy Is Crucial To Retain/motivate Staff
New research reveals that integrating a reward strategy with employer brand will
help businesses put themselves in the best position for the upturn in the economy. Reward can influence an employees attitude and should be linked to behaviours that support the organisations strategy.
The research identifies emerging themes and examples of a good reward practice and highlights the areas where approaches to integrate the business brand and strategy with a reward offering, have worked really well.
The report also highlights the role of communication as a crucial way of highlighting, promoting and reinforcing the employer brand, as it raises awareness of the rewards offered by an organisation. While financial rewards are still important, it was found that non financial rewards were also to be an important aspect in reinforcing the brand and strategy.
The report also showed the importance of checking whether the reward approach was adding value to the employer brand, by using Human Resource metrics such as employee surveys or performance management data, as well as business metrics such as budget reductions or customer service.
Recruitment levels are growing at the fastest rate for 12 years.
The Report on Jobs from the recruitment organisations have advised that permanent staff recruitment is increasing at the fastest rate since October 1997, say Novo Executive Search and Selection. The number of permanent staff appointments made by UK recruitment agencies increased in the month of March, with growth picking up to its strongest since October 1997. Higher executive appointments were underpinned by a further expansion of permanent staff vacancies, albeit the slowest in three months.
The Report on Jobs from the recruitment organisations shows growth of short term staff appointments quickened to the strongest for 34 months in the month of March, and recruitment agencies signalled another improvement in the availability of staff during March 2010. The supply of both permanent and temporary / contract candidates increased at a slightly faster rate compared with one month previously.
Temporary salaries increased at a pace that, although modest, was the sharpest since the month of June 2008 and permanent staff salaries also rose again in March 2010. The rate of inflation was solid, despite easing slightly from February's 20 month high.
