All About the Samsung I7500 by:Simon Drew
With a super sleek overall design and a stylish outer shell
, the new Samsung I7500 is the latest Android-powered device to hit the Smartphone market. It sports a 3.2-inch AMOLED high resolution touch screen display and a brushed black colour effect that simply screams elegance. Samsung fanatics out there are sure to get their fix with this new Smartphone that is set to be the next iPhone killer.
Physical Design
The I7500 will easily fit into the hands of the user with its block form factor design. The dimensions of the Samsung I7500 are 115 x 56 x 11.9 mm and it weighs only 119 grams which means that it is relatively a lightweight Smartphone. As expected the mobile's front surface is dominated by its sizable touch screen and is accompanied by a few basic buttons just below it. As mentioned earlier the I7500 is equipped with an AMOLED capacitive touch screen that allows the users to experience full vivid colours and a stunning user interface.
More Than Meets the Eye
Along with style, the I7500 also brings in a lot of substance with it. This device has all the basic functions that have become prerequisites for all Smartphones. This includes high-speed internet connectivity via its WLAN capabilities (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g), quad band GSM (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) and tri band 3G HSDPA (HSDPA 900 / 2100 / 1700) support, as well as a built-in GPS receiver that is fully-compatible with the Google Maps application. Moreover, the I7500's use of the Google-powered Android operating system means that it is compatible with all the handy Google mobile applications such as Gmail, Google Search, YouTube, Google Calendar, and Picasa.
Hard Evidence
Running under the hood of the Samsung I7500 is a Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 MHz processor. This powerful CPU is what makes the Android OS perform at an optimal level and ensures that the users have the best mobile experience possible. Along with a 128-Megabyte RAM, the I7500 also has an internal memory of 8GB which can be expanded to up to 16GB through the mobile's microSD memory card slot.
Although it may not have the best camera out there (pales in comparison to the Sony Ericsson Satio's mind blowing 12-Megapixel snapper), the I7500's 5-Megapixel camera is more than just functional. It also has built-in features such as autofocus, geo-tagging, and an LED flash. Even though it is not exactly cutting edge, it is much better than the cameras of previous Android mobiles (i.e. the HTC Magic's 3.15-Megapixel camera).
