An Attitude of Gratitude

I was raised by parents who frequently reminded me to be thankful for what I had

. We were taught to pray, to offer appreciation, and to show respect. I even remember a instance or two in which I was sent to bed with a paper and pencil and told to list all things I was thankful for. I do not really recall what I wrote down, if anything. I'm definite something, because my mom and dad were inspectors of what they requested.

Over time I discovered more about how my mind works and began to understand that what we tend to possess in our lives is what we have a tendency to think about, and that we tend to achieve and acquire what we subconsciously expect. I realized that if I were to carry on in a life basically filled with good fortune, I needed to feel fortunate.

Enter my finding of "Attitude of Gratitude."

The knowledge behind this finding is that our minds are magnets, and we will gravitate toward what we think about mainly, be it optimistic or negative. For instance, we have all spent time around the "Constant Complainer" - the individual discontented with life, underpaid, gets the crummy career, sees the glass half empty, etc. Such a person, through his own depression, will overlook opening and go on to thrust himself into emotional ruin. The "Constant Complainer" misses out and goes without, yet at the same time generates a life in accordance within his own belief system.

Everything gets predictable to those complainers. They are happy with knowing that their predictions are dependable and in accordance with their expectations - all pessimistic.

Through time, what I have observed is that our world is rather forgiving, but that if you wholly focus on what you do not possess, you will end up with less and less of what you want. However, those who lead vigorous and fulfilling lives are individuals who are regularly rejoicing in what life offers them.

do not be conditioned to look at what is negative or what could go wrong. If there are ten things going right, and 1 thing wrong, we tend to focus on what is wrong. It is like painting your living room and pointing out where on the rug you spilled paint! Even if it can be demanding, there is a optimistic area to everything, and you can find it!

An Attitude of Gratitude places grateful concentration on what we hold. If we target on what we encompass that is copious and rich, we are in fact setting ourselves up for additional good things to come our way.

The strongest aspect of Attitude of Gratitude is prayer. Giving gratitude for what we possess is what in God's eyes is essential to exist wholly through Him.

Let's face it: we could all stand to target on the optimistic a little more in life. We all have those days where nothing seems to go our way. However, if we were to look at the things that were going right, think of how much better our day would be! In life, nearly everybody should be able to display an Attitude of Gratitude.

And it must initiate with you!
